Joseph Jacobs (29 Aug 1854 – 30 Jan 1916) was a notable collector of English fairy tales. Through his works such stories were popularized as The Cat and the Mouse, Jack the Giant Killer, Jack and the Beanstalk and many more. Three little Pigs is one of the most popular English fairy tales, it has been translated to many languages. Jacobs published the first best-known form of the story in English Fairy Tales in 1890.
