Description

A summer to remember…

When Cici Johnson falls for the charms of American big shot Rich Maguire, their drunken one night stand results in an unexpected pregnancy. Rich wants nothing to do with the baby or Cici, but she's determined to give their child the love of two parents on her own.

Jason Hooper's spent his whole life wondering what family really means. In and out of the foster care system, he never gets too close to anyone; just in case they walk away. But then he meets Cici and he feels as if he's finally home.

For both of them, the summer they share in Manhattan couldn't be sweeter. If only he'll let his guard down, Hoop's own happy-ever-after might not be make-believe anymore…

I enjoyed reading Summer in Manhattan by Katherine Garbara. After Cici Johnson has a drunken one night stand with Rich Maguire she unexpectedly ends up pregnant. Rich wants nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the baby or with Cici. Although Cici never expected to become a mom, she is determined to raise her baby with all the love she can. Jason Hooper was abandoned after birth and spent his entire life wondering what family means. He was in and out of the foster care system until being adopted by a wonderful family as a teen. Because of his background, he never gets close to anyone in case they walk away. After meeting Cici he feels like he’s finally found his place and his home. He has to figure out if he can accept Cici and the baby while Cici needs to stop running away and believe that Hoop has her back. I enjoyed reading this book. It is really a great story showing the importance of friends and family and believing they have your back.s Ms. Garbera is a wonderful story teller, keeping me interested in this story and I definitely recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Sweet & satisfying! Two scarred souls, sizzling attraction ... yet life gets in their way over and over again. Can they manage to overcome their individual hang-ups in order to make a relationship work? They both really want to ... but insecurity and fear is a compelling argument against forever! Cici Johnson hasn't exactly felt like she fit in with her surroundings for most of her life, but she's finally happy in a business with her two best friends and is looking forward to a bright future. Unfortunately her impulsiveness has gotten herself into quite the fix! When a drunken one-night stand leaves her pregnant, she's going to have to learn how to handle it all on her own because the father wants nothing to do with either of them. Jason Hooper grew up in the foster care system, and even in adulthood, he finds himself expecting people to still turn him away. He tried keeping Cici at arms length even though there was a massive attraction between them when they met, and now when he's having second thoughts, he finds out she's pregnant with another man's baby! He's not sure this is something he can handle, and in all honesty, with the life he's lived, he's not sure he even wants to.
