Description

#1 New York Times Bestseller

An outlaw motorcycle club sets up shop next door to Sea Haven in the dangerously sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.

A brutal education in a Russian training facility for assassins has taught this group of men one thing: It's a long road to redemption...

As the enforcer of the Torpedo Ink motorcycle club, Reaper lives for riding and fighting. He's a stone-cold killer who turns his wrath on those who deserve it. Feelings are a weakness he can't afford--until a gorgeous bartender gets under his skin...

Near Sea Haven, the small town of Caspar has given Anya Rafferty a new lease on life. And she's desperate to hold on to her job at the biker bar, even if the scariest member of the club seems to have it out for her. But Reaper's imposing presence and smoldering looks just ratchet up the heat.

Anya's touch is everything Reaper doesn't want--and it brands him to the bone. But when her secrets catch up to her, Reaper will have to choose between Anya and his club--his heart and his soul.

  • Hope and new series

Clearly this new series takes off right after Bound Together, last of the Sisters of the Heart series. If you have not yet read Bound Together, I urge you to read at least that one before you start this Torpedo Ink series. Such an amazingly great story. This will be a tough to read series with the strongly violent background of child abuse woven into each one of the Torpedo Ink members. Still, I love the hope of a better future Ms. Feehan gives to each character. With 18 original Torpedo Ink members, that means we can anticipate 16 more titles in this series. Hooray!
  • Don’t try to make physical abuse romantic

I’ve liked this author in the past, but this particular book goes way to far towards actually romanticizing an abusive relationship ...a male who gaslights and “owns” a woman. Actually goes so far as to “love to see the marks (bruises) on her, and she goes so far as to tattoo his “finger prints” aka bruises around her wrists like shackles... and, by the way, it’s not a novel idea for her because she has HAD those bruises around her wrists made by him. Seriously?

I didn’t know if I was going to like this series or not but I just finished this book and I’m proud to say that I’m hooked!!! I love the characters and I was happy to see characters from the Sisters of the Heart series make an appearance too. The storyline for this book was great and pulled at my emotions a lot; I can’t wait for the next book!!!

Wow! This was an emotional and incredible ride! Every time I read her books, I think how can she do it better. This book has it all-emotion, intrigue, storyline and intensity. Can't wait for the next in the series.

As always this story has a lot to saw. The characters are strong and amazing and the her writing always make you feel like your standing right there with them. My review won’t hint at the story because I believe you need to take the journey on your own without any preconceived notion. Wonderful new series and can5 wait for the next one.

I usually love Ms Feehan's work, but this one was way to raw for me...I found myself skipping large chunks of it because there was just no relief from the sexual and emotional battery to my senses. I enjoyed the family building and the club intrigue. I will try the next one but if it follows this pattern I will skip this series. I hope not... I already wonder what will be the stories for the other characters introduced.
  • Solid MC story with a twist

I was generously given an ARC for a honest review. This is my first Christine Feehan book but it is not my first MC book. At times I felt there was too much explanation regarding the terms surrounding the MC world. I've read all of Joanna Wylde's MC book so I feel I'm pretty well versed in that particular field of books. But if you are a MC novice, this is a good start. The book is a good beginning to the series but there's a lot going on.,,,,,,,such as the romance between Reaper and Anya, the backstory of Torpedo Ink, the current story of Torpedo Ink with the other MCs and the introduction of all the other members to set up the storyline in future books. Although this a first book in the series, I felt like if I had read the previous book/series where the Torpedo Ink is an offshoot. I would have had a better exxperience with the book. I believe it's the Sea Haven series?....the story of Blythe and Czar. There definitely were times where the story dragged......esp when Reaper and Anya were constantly flip flopping with their decisions with each other. I got tired of Anya always wanting to be first and treating Reaper like a child at some points. Also Reaper and his constant back and forth with Anya was tiring too. There were 2 Reapers: the strong enigmatic assassin/brother and the weak, bad decision making lover of Anya. I wished there was a better middle ground between these 2. And for all of Anya's declaration of love, she was pretty quick to call it quits esp at the latter half of the book. All she needed was to talk to Reaper and she came around pretty quickly but was so stubborn after the "therapy incident". I actually felt bad for Tawny.....she was just thrown in and took all the blame. There are plenty of sex scenes and while they are definitely hot, sometimes my annoyance with both characters took a bit away from the scene. The best parts of the book were when they went on their "missions". It really showcases their individual talents within the group. The hardest part of the book was reading about the torture school in Russia. It really does make the reader wonder how any one of them survived and are able to live the lives they are living currently. Finally, I would recommmend this book and the upcoming book (hopefully about Pierce and Alena). Regardless of my sometimes annoyance of Reaper and Anya, it is still a solid MC romance with a twist. And I will be picking up more of Ms Feehan's other books!
