Everyone knows DAISY JONES & THE SIX, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock ’n’ roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.

Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.

Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the seventies. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

  • Interesting story

I almost quit after first few chapters because the story was being told from so many people’s point of view that it was confusing until you got to know the characters better. Also the amount of drugs being taken was insane. I’m glad I stuck with it because it was a good story in the end.

Kept reading hoping for the “inside “ story of what a rock band was like in the 70s and 80s…you know, sex, drugs and rock n roll. Never got there. Maybe the movie’s better.

The layout of the book took a little while to acclimate to but after a while it was fine. Story was great felt like I was watching a VH1 behind the scenes. I’m almost scared to watch the series because they are never better than the book. Loved the underline sexual tense between the characters and how you are secretly rooting for them yet understand the moral dilemma. Finally I felt like it just kinda ended like BOOM done. A pretty hurried finish I kinda wanted a little more which I guess is a good thing. Definitely an enjoyable read.

Súper entretenido, diferente formato. Buena historia, pero no fue súper wow. Bueno plot al final :) 3.5 Ahora toca verse la serie, estoy emocionada.

This book was full of emotional attachments to several parts in several characters stories. I found myself laughing out loud, and tearing up, and throwing my phone at the couch when scenes made me angry. This book was different than any I’ve read, but I loved it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. I’m very busy, so it took me a while to get through. However, it was really easy to pick back up when I had time. The writing was brilliant. I want to give the author a hug LOL.

Somewhere between a 4 and a 5. I love TJR for the simplicity of her writing while always maintaining a captivating storyline. I felt like this book kept stringing me along but in the best way. A romance that breaks your heart. I loved the incorporation and the song lyrics at the end. This melted my heart!
