Loved this story. Great characters couldn’t put it down.

I enjoyed this one. Sports romance can cause me a bit of anxiety at first only because they usually have heavy "other women" involvement due to overeager fans. I'm happy to say you do not get that in this book. In fact, I really like how much Jude was crushing on Katie, even years later after their first encounter. I felt like because of that, this was a fun romance even though they had a few obstacles to overcome. I listened to the audiobook version of this and really enjoyed the narrators. It had both a male, and female narrator who showcased both POVs, and I love that. This gives us readers a look into both characters thoughts throughout the book. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a fun, safe sports romance.

Jude Taylor is a NHL hockey player who’s career is on the line. Jude comes from a family deeply embedded in hockey. He even plays alongside his brother, until that fateful evening when Jude is injured. Jude suffered a debilitating concussion and a torn ACL. He’s not taking it well and can only think the worst. HIs coach decides Jude needs a change of scenery and sends him home to rehab, hopeful his attitude will change. Katie is a physical therapist who has a history with Jude. She keeps up with his career and knows he has a long recovery ahead, but never dreamed he’d walk into the place she works. Katie knew Jude in college, before he became famous. The day Jude signed a contract as a NHL player, was the day Katie let Jude and her dreams go. Katie blocked Jude’s number and never spoke to him again. Katie loved him so much, that she let him go. She thought she would only hold him back. I really enjoyed this second chance romance. Katie’s selfless acts enabled Jude to concentrate on his career and become the player she knew he could be. Katie also wanted stability after growing up living a gypsy-like life. Katie worked hard to earn her PT degree and worked with some of the best rehab specialist in the country. It took a leap of faith and Jude’s love to enable Katie to take a chance at love. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

If you like second chance romances, sports romances or both this is the book for you. It is the first in the new “Ice Kings” series from Lynn. Jude and Kate were together for a short time in college. He left to begin his pro hockey career, she stayed. Despite unresolved issues they could not forget each other. However, Jude is back struggling to come to terms with a sudden change to his career. He makes it clear that he still wants Kate, she is frightened to trust in Jude and upend the stable life she has built for herself. The chemistry between them is tangible…you get caught up in the push and pull of their relationship as each struggles with their own issues. Lynn regales us with a fun, flirty, and sexy romance! Also, intertwined in the story is a varied cast of supporting characters(Jude’s parents are the best!) that really enhance the story. I enjoyed this book, so if you are looking for a well written, sexy read this is the book for you. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

You ever read two characters meeting on the page and you're just like... yes, I'm here for it and they better be here for it too? That's exactly how I felt about Jude and Katie. Second chance is totally my catnip and this one checked all the boxes. This book has me super excited for this series. I love Jude and Katie but I also fell in love with their friends. I can't wait to see who gets their HEA next!!
