  • Marriage of Convenience

Travis is back in Asheville to complete two goals. Get his father healthy and help his brothers restore the family resort, Moonlight Ridge, to its former glory. Riley arrives in Asheville planning a gala for her family’s foundation. She plans to support a charity close to her heart. Soon they cross paths. Riley and Travis have some financial issues that could be resolved with a quickie marriage. The high school sweethearts are still attracted to one another, but in order to move forward they must reconcile their past obstacles and a new one that neither of them sees coming. Marriage of convenience and “fake dating” are two of my favorite romance tropes. And I adored this one. There was enough substance to create a believable set of events, and some unexpected romantic moments. Travis really is a gem who looks out for Riley’s heart. I loved seeing their story unfold as they renewed their love.

Four and a half stars Just a Little Married by Reese Ryan is the third and last book in the Moonlight Ridge multi author series from Harlequin Desire. Travis Holloway and Riley George had a past but neither expected to ever see the other again. When they’re brought together to work on a charity fundraising event, those long buried sparks flare back to life, big time. And when Riley needs to marry to fulfill the ridiculous requirement placed on her trust by her late grandfather, she figures she can help Travis at the same time, making it a win-win. Reese Ryan ably juggles Riley and Travis’s scorching attraction, balancing it with their painful pasts, the trouble hanging over the resort, and the uncertainty facing them. I thoroughly enjoyed this second-chance marriage-of-convenience story, and can’t wait for more by Ms Ryan.
