What a lovely book. I very much enjoyed Ariel and Chance and Tri’s story. The step by step back to the living they all did in their individual way. Sweet HEA.

This story of two people bound by the memory of a loved one and fiercely devoted to rehabilitating the service dog who lost his leg, nearly his life and definitely his mission trying to protect that same hero they wish to honor, is a riveting read. You want to cry with them and for them, to cheer them on to meet their personal challenges and find the love you know they need . Definitely hard to put down and you want to know more about what happens to them when the story ends!
One to read again

A tender story of military sacrifice by men and trained dogs with the pathos of recovery from loss and grief. It was so rewarding to read how Chance finally opened both his heart and his mouth to speak more than a few depressed syllables as Ariel worked her magic with a war damaged dog in heart and body, as well as the dog’s rehab person. Well worth the read!!
