This is an adorable story about two scholars, Edward and Elissa, who excel at the same skill, translation. They have known each other since childhood when her father was his tutor. Edward needs to win a classical translation contest in order to satisfy his impetuous brother’s wager. In order to do this, he must beat the mysterious translator whose translation of On the Sublime has made him famous. He enters the contest and helps get Elissa included in the group (not easy). Defeated in the contest, but a close second, Edward and his fellow scholars are shocked to learn that the anonymous translator whom they all admire and who won the contest is none other than Miss Elissa St. Cyr. What will Edward do when Elissa outdoes him in the contest? Something absolutely wonderful. Charming story, likeable characters, a great read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
