Description

"[Thich Nhat Hanh] shows us the connection between personal, inner peace and peace on earth." His Holiness The Dalai Lama

Nominated by Martin Luther King, Jr. for a Nobel Peace Prize, Thich Nhat Hanh is one of today’s leading sources of wisdom, peace, compassion and comfort.

It was under the bodhi tree in India twenty-five centuries ago that Buddha achieved the insight that three states of mind were the source of all our unhappiness: wrong knowing, obsessive desire, and anger. All are difficult, but in one instant of anger—one of the most powerful emotions—lives can be ruined, and health and spiritual development can be destroyed.

With exquisite simplicity, Buddhist monk and Vietnam refugee Thich Nhat Hanh gives tools and advice for transforming relationships, focusing energy, and rejuvenating those parts of ourselves that have been laid waste by anger. His extraordinary wisdom can transform your life and the lives of the people you love, and in the words of Thich Nhat Hanh, can give each reader the power "to change everything."

I absolutely enjoy reading any book by Thich Nhat Hanh. But this book in particular really hit the spot. It gave me major insights and helped me realize my own suffering. Now I must practice. Thank you dear friend.

It was easy to read and follow. It offered great suggestion to embrace our emotions to include anger. We must embrace but not allow to overpower and take over our emotions. The way to do this is breathing and with mindfulness.

It is mostly basic Buddha teachings and nothing really specific about angry. But the teachings are effective if you work at it. The book is the same price on kindle and apple's iBook.
  • Great Book, Cheaper on Kindle

Unfortunately, Apple can't seem to get it through their heads on book price. They allow the publisher to charge $12.99 on their bookstore. You can purchase the physical book for $10.99. You can also purchase an electronic copy on the Kindle for $9.99. Come on Apple, fix you pricing structure before you lose the ebook battle. No ebook that has been in publication this long should be sold for half the cost of the dead tree product, let alone more like this one is. I know this is the publisher's fault, but Apple should really control the pricing more on the bookstore.
