Pompous, pretentious. The basic story line is good. It's all the esoteric references that really slow the story down.

Don't spend your money. Way too hard to follow.

The story line was fairly interesting but it was a labor to read. The author took you down to many side roads and overloaded the story with twist and turns, as bad as a ride on a winding dirt road. I wouldn't have finished reading it if I hadn't already bought it on iBooks. I guess you get spoiled with authors like David Baldacci, Daniel Silva, Vince Flynn, Andrew Britton and others out there. One other thing, and it seems to be the whole genre moving that way, is the constant use of the f- bomb and other vulgar words. What is happening to the writers that cam turn a phrase or make a story worth reading without getting down in the gutter? Would not recommend!!!
