Milla Edge is fueled by an obsession to fill the void in other people’s lives. Traveling to a small village in Mexico on a reliable tip, she begins to uncover the dire fate of countless children who have disappeared in the labyrinth of a sinister baby-smuggling ring. The key to nailing down the organization may rest with an elusive one-eyed man. As Milla’s search for him intensifies, the mission becomes more treacherous. For the ring is part of something far larger and more dangerous, reaching the highest echelons of power. Racing into peril, Milla suddenly finds herself the hunted—in the crosshairs of an invisible, lethal assassin who aims to silence her permanently.

This was one of the first books that I read from this author. This book made me realize several things about kidnaps and how you can count (or not) in other people. I felt almost every emotion possible while reading this book. I won’t deny that this book took some tears out.

I have read this book multiple times and will definitely read again in a couple years. It is one of my favorite books. The author writes about a parent’s worst nightmare. It is NOT a light book that you can just read, put it aside, and move on without ever thinking about again. It’s a heavy topic. It pulls at me emotionally and I cry at several moments throughout. Yet I can’t put it down. I highly recommend it.

Thank you Linda Howard for a fabulous read. The best read I've had in awhile and I so recommend this to everyone. I've read a lot of Linda Howard books and love them all but this one tops all of them.

This book is a wonderful read. So many emotions are evoked, one minute sad, then angry, frustrated then right back to sad. The topic of child stealing is very timely and the work of a group like Finders gives hope to us that the lost will be found and returned to the parents. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did, but have a hankie ready.
