Description

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Crusie brings humor and storytelling magic to this modern-day romance of a match made anywhere but in heaven—but destined for a fairy-tale ending.

Daisy Flattery is a free spirit with a soft spot for strays and a weakness for a good story. Why else would she agree to the outrageous charade offered by her buttoned-down workaholic neighbor, Linc Blaise? The history professor needs to have a fiancée in order to capture his dream job, and Daisy is game to play the role. But something funny happens on their way to the altar that changes everything. Now, with the midnight hour approaching, will Daisy lose her prince, or will opposites not only attract but live happily ever after?

First off I want to say that I stumbled upon this story by chance. I subscribe to Audible and there was a deal and this was one of the stories to choose from, I like cute, love stories so I went for it. I am incredibly glad that I did because not only did I enjoy this book, I have gone on to other Jennifer Crusie books and have enjoyed them just as much. I really liked Daisy as a character. I found her to be a quite refreshing character with all her quirks. I actually found myself wishing I could be a little more free-spirited like her. I enjoyed Linc's character as well and thought that they were made for each other whether they wanted to admit at first or not. I found Linc to be a little irritating at times only when he was talking to that blonde at the school. He ever knew that he kind of liked Daisy but because she wasn't his "type" he disregarded her for the time being for the blonde because she was his "type". I'm glad he got over that because honestly Daisy was way better. I liked the how the relationship eventually developed not only among Daisy and Linc but among Linc and Daisy and their mothers. I thought that was some nice character relationship development. Overall, I highly enjoyed listening to this book and and am so glad that I stumbled upon it. It was a well written cute read.
