Description

The definitive inside story of the case that captivated the nation. . . and the verdict that no one saw coming.

It was the trial that stunned America. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She'd been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

In Imperfect Justice, prosecutor Jeff Ashton, one of the principal players in the case's drama, sheds light on those questions and much more, telling the behind-the-scenes story of the investigation, the trial, and the now-infamous verdict. Complete with never-before-revealed information about the case and the accused, Ashton examines what the prosecution got right, what they got wrong, and why he remains completely convinced of Casey Anthony's guilt.

You can't put this book down. It's hard reading it knowing the outcome but I guess I wanted to try to understand how the jury could have gotten it so wrong. It makes sense to me now but it is still so hard to swallow. That poor little girl!

I really enjoyed reading this all though brought back those awful feeling of no justice for little caylee. I still don't under stand how she Wasn't charged with anything .the jurors said they knew she did it but it wasn't proven how does that make sense. I feel like they didn't care they just wanted out of there and for that they should be ashamed. I also don't believe the defense should be able to lie.

I had a hard time putting it down. I don't understand how they found her not guilty. I thought about not reading it. But I'm so glad I did. Thank you for still making Caylee the person and reason for this book. I for one will never forget this was about justice for a beautiful 3 year old little girl. And shame on anyone for not remembering that.

I hate to admit it, but reading the story from Jose Baez's viewpoint made me doubt my original opinion after watching the trial.

You should only read it if you are close minded and let everybody do your thinking for you.

Mr.Ashton, I too share your frustration with this case. It was a clear case, her actions and the duct tape proved she was guilty. I enjoyed reading your book, I followed the case everyday and your book filled in some missing points. I applaud you and your team for doing an excellent job trying to get Caylee justice, you guys should hold your heads high.
