If I was younger, didn’t mind language or explicit sex I probably would have given this book more stars. Since it was my first time reading this author I didn’t know what to expect. As far as the story was concerned I enjoyed the falling in love and the family aspect of it. Might be better suited for college age.
  • Cute Story

This was a great story about ordinary people falling in love — no tragic backstories, no great epic agonies to resolve. Just two people who meet in the course of their daily lives and fall in love as their lives get tied closer together. Not to say it’s all smooth sailing, because there are roadblocks Astrid and Parker have to find their way through. I will say that I found Parker’s hot/cold attitude towards having a relationship with Astrid a bit annoying. She stayed patient with Parker longer than I would have. But it pays off in the end and we get a happily ever after. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is book 3 of this series and it easily stands alone. It takes place in New England at a small private college and its during the summer months. Astrid is staying in town so she can attend some summer classes. Her good friends are not in town and she is living in a cheap apartment until her dorm is available. Feeling sad and lonely she is drowning her sorrow at Parker's bar. Parker has been crushing on Astrid for a while and he is friends with her friends so he is keeping his eye on her. When she gets sloshed, he lets her sleep at his apartment above the bar. Which opens Astrid's eyes to Parker's responsibilities and makes her realize she doesn't have to feel so alone. In turn it opens Parker's eyes and makes him realize that he can let people in while still caring about his family. Parker and Astrid made a really cute couple. I love how open to Parker and his brother's Astrid was. She was feeling lonely and sad but by opening his heart to her, Astrid found something really special. I loved Liam and Ro so very much. They really made this story for me. I loved how Parker, and his brothers opened their hearts to Astrid and included her in their lives. I also loved Astrid's relationship with her parents.
