Gave Thorpe has finally found his sweet spot with this novel. The first book in the new Dark Angels trilogy was full of action but the characters were flat. This 2nd book has similar amounts of battle but the characters are fleshed out and we see more interesting conflict between the heroes... not to mention some really great villains you'll love to hate.
