IN USA Today bestseller ROMANCING MY LOVE...
After months of caring for her terminally ill mother, Rebecca Rivera is left all alone in a world she doesn't trust--but she's determined not to let her mother's death define her. Losing her job, having to pummel some jerk for being too handsy, and living in her car are just temporary setbacks to an otherwise solid plan in finding her footing. Full of pride and used to being in control of her life, she's certain she can make it on her own. The last thing Rebecca needs is a man to fix her troubles--even if that man is strikingly handsome, wealthy, and charismatic Pierce Braden.

Pierce is a powerful real estate investor on the verge of a major acquisition. As the eldest of six siblings raised by a single mother, he's spent his life protecting those he loves. He's used to being in charge and making things right, and although he'd give his life for his family, he treats the women he dates as expendable--until he meets sexy and stubborn Rebecca Rivera, a woman who is as strong as she is vulnerable.

Passion ignites between them, and the two share their most intimate thoughts and desires. It doesn't take long for Pierce to realize that Rebecca is as determined not to be saved as he is to find a way into her heart. As their love grows, Rebecca must face fears she didn't even realize she had--and Pierce must learn the hard truth that sometimes less really is more. Is the power of true love enough for Rebecca and Pierce to learn to give up control and allow their hearts to take over?

  • Pierce and Rebecca had me captivated!

I first read this book a couple years ago upon discovering some of Melissa Foster's other books. I recently had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook and rediscover this great story. Pierce is a typical alpha male on the surface, but with a huge caring heart underneath that big cloak of privacy and workaholic lifestyle. Rebecca is likable from the very beginning as the reader learns of some of her struggles-some that she is still working through. I tend to read very fast, and sometimes I miss little details, so I really liked taking the time to listen to the audiobook and get re-introduced to the characters. I only gave it 4 out of 5 because the premise of the story (rich guy/down on her luck girl) has been so overdone. Melissa actually does a great job developing characters that not only "fit" together, but that I wanted to get to know!
  • Strong heroine

Romancing My Love is one of my favorite books by this author. Casino owner Pierce Braden still has a small town guy feel. He isn’t one to be throwing his money around and acting like the important rich guy. Rebecca Rivera is a strong heroine who doesn’t go around whining about her lot even though she has had a lot of hardships to endure. Her biggest fault is she gets so much into doing everything for herself she can’t let anyone help her. Her pride and stubbornness trips her up at every turn. I loved listening to this audiobook on my commute. The excellent narration really added to the story and kept me interested and entertained. -4.5 Stars!-
  • Pierce the Protector

I listened to this Audiobook and it really brought the book I read and loved a couple of years ago to life for me. I really enjoyed it again in this new way! BJ Harrison is a wonderful narrator, his ability to switch voices/characters is just flawless. You really feel as if you are a part of the story. I love Pierce and Rebecca! The chemistry between these two is crazy!! They are both such real and likable characters! Pierce, being the eldest of the Braden siblings has always been the protector and always gone after what he wants. He didn't see Rebecca coming though. She made him want things he didn't think he wanted. Rebecca has been through so much and is just so strong. She is trying so hard to be independent and the last thing she needs is someone coddling her. But she wants Pierce and can't stop from falling for him. These two characters are so opposite but they really work and are so good together! I loved watching them fall in love and seeing Pierce in a whole different light. Another amazing Braden story! Love this family!

Romancing My Love was another great read by Melissa Foster. I listened to the audiobook and absolutely loved hearing the narrator bring the characters to life. Rebecca has lost everything when her terminally ill mother passed away. She met Pierce and she starts to fall in love with him. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read more by Melissa Foster.
  • Chance encounter = deep connection

I loved having the opportunity to listen to this audio book after first reading it in print when it was released! I couldn't help but love Pierce and Rebecca! A chance encounter = deep connections! Pierce tends to focus on business while Rebecca just focuses on surviving. Either way, they are totally in sync and need to just focus on each other going forward! High profile personality meets someone who hides as much as possible. The question becomes, how do these two move forward? Opposites definitely do attract!
  • Strong wills and soft hearts

As the oldest of the Braden clan, Pierce has felt a need to watch out for his siblings once their father left. He has an ultra-protective nature which is juxtaposed against his alpha businessman persona. He knows what he wants and usually has no trouble getting it. Rebecca has just lost her mother to cancer and is trying to find her footing. She is fiercely independent and shuns any kind of protective overtures. She wants to make it on her own. Enter Pierce... and the sparks fly. They are drawn to each other like moths to a flame ... Pierce wants to ease her pain and Rebecca wants his love but not his smothering. As the book progressed, I loved watching Pierce's softer side reveal itself and I cheered for Rebecca for standing on her own. This is a great addition to the Braden family series of books and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Melissa is truly an amazing author. She takes you on an emotional roller-coaster.  In the beginning my heart broke for Rebecca. When Rebecca met Pierce she had some struggles.  However, Rebecca is a strong and determined woman. Pierce is the eldest brother who stepped in to take charge after his dad left. Rebecca had to learn how to kean on Pierce.  This book had me laughing and crying. The narration of B.J. Harrison is incredible.  All his different character voices and great.

What another great story from Melissa Foster. Rebecca Riveria has recently lost her mother, job and apartment. She's a head strong woman, determined to get back on her feet and does not need a man to survive. Pierce Braden is a wealthy real estate investor and he's used to having women fall at his feet and getting what he wants. When Rebecca doesn't fall at his feet Pierce is taken back and intrigued. Pierce and Rebecca learn that their relationship is give and take. Rebecca wanting to do everything on her own and Pierce wants to fix all of her problems for her. Their chemistry is off of the charts. You cannot help but to fall in love with every member of the Braden family. Not only did I enjoy reading Romancing My Love, I enjoyed the audiobook version as well. I love the narrator B J Harrison, he draws you in and you feel like you are part of the story. It is so easy to get lost in B J Harrison's voice.
  • Strong characters, wonderful love story

Pierce Braden doesn’t see the need to ever settle down. With his successful business deals, profitable properties, and no trouble finding company for the evening when he wants it, he thinks he doesn’t need anything more. And when he steps up to defend a woman being harassed in a bar, the last thing he expects is for her not to him either…or to find himself so intrigued that he can’t stay away from her. Rebecca Rivera’s used to relying only on herself. After years of taking care of her sick mother and losing just about everything else in the process, she’s now on her own in the worst way. Her mother’s gone, she has no job, and she’ll be sleeping in her car for the foreseeable future. And when a handsome man wearing a suit that probably cost more than her car treats her as if she’s some damsel in distress, she’s having none of it. Of course, she didn’t plan on his being quite so charming, or on falling for him, or on finding out maybe she needs something, someone more in her life. The Verdict: If ever there was an opening scene that perfectly introduced a character, Romancing My Love has it. Rebecca wears her grief like armor, steeling herself for a somewhat solitary existence and trying to get back on her feet without anyone’s pity or charity. Her guard is up so high that she can’t see common courtesy or chivalry for what it is, expecting every kindness shown to her is tainted with sympathy and condescension, and she’s determined to make it on her own, even if that means pushing everyone else away. While the self-reliant heroine has certainly been done before, Rebecca’s story adds a different dimension to it, and her refusal to show even the smallest vulnerability makes for a very interesting character. She’s not looking to be romanced or given gifts or being placed on a pedestal. She’s not actually looking for anything at all, except maybe a somewhat smoother path in life. So getting her to open up and allow someone else to take care of her is an almost impossible task for Pierce. Pierce is more than just a handsome, charming, successful man. Sure, he’s got all that, and he’s a bit surprised when Rebecca turns down his offer to see her home after she defends herself against a jerk at her now former job. But he doesn’t really pull the old, “I can’t believe she didn’t fall for my charms,” bit that would make him annoyingly overconfident. Instead, his interest is piqued, and he’s both impressed and amused by her fiery independence. He’s also believably oblivious to her tenuous living situation, not really recognizing the few clues that she’s not as put together as she seems. What I found most interesting refreshing, though, was that he didn’t throw money around to save her. Where most books with a similar premise would have had Pierce talking Rebecca into accepting financial help, offering a place to stay, or maybe pulling strings to get her a job, the story between these two is quite different. Instead of providing a solution way too convenient to ever happen in real life, Pierce — not his money — is the solution. Oh, he makes it more than clear that he’d love to do more for her, but he doesn’t push, and it’s obvious Rebecca would never allow it. So instead he simply lets their relationship progress, becomes more important to her than she ever thought possible, and lets her work things out her way. It’s that process that makes their ultimate happily ever after feel that much more earned. ***FicCentral received this book from Tasty Book Tours for free in exchange for an honest review.
