The Serpent King is about three teenagers Lydia and Dill and Travis. They all three outcasts. Come from three different ways of living. But they remain friends. I could really relate to Dill and the things he went through with his mother and father. Travis my heart ache for him. I felt like i wanted be there for Travis. Lydia I understood her. I didn't think I would get into this book due to what it was about. But I enjoyed and couldn't put in down. It will be a book that I reread one day again.

Zentner marvelously captures the stinging angst of every teen blossoming between the weighty concrete sidewalk cracks of their own Forestville (one R).

This novel is one that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Jeff zentner has impacted me in such a powerful way and I simply loved the book. The characters felt my friends I laughed, cried, cheered, and cried some more during their success and their setbacks. I don't think I have ever this emotionally attached to a book or to a set of characters. The awesome thing about this book is that it will resonate with so many different teens going through so many different trials (depression, suicide, abuse, sex, poverty, pornography, crazy parents, falling in love, etc.) So do yourself a favor and read this life altering novel! I guarantee you won't regret it:)
