In September 2015, the eight grade students of Shanghai American School were given an assignment that seemed easy at the time; we were to choose an object that is important to us, and write about the story behind it. Though a seemingly simple piece, our writing became less and less about concrete objects and more about the worth, value, and emotion behind them. After working on our pieces for over three months, here is a complication of some of our memoirs. We hope that by reading them, you can learn about our personal artifacts one treasure at a time.
