Description

The next historical romance series coming soon from USA Today Bestselling Romance Author Jess Michaels

Widow Rosalinde Wilde wants only to protect her beloved sister and find out the truth about her mysterious father. It seems she can do both when her sister becomes engaged to an earl, fulfilling their wicked grandfather’s desire to see one of them wed above her station. Now Rosalinde is on her way to the wedding when an unexpected storm waylays her at an overcrowded inn. There she meets a tempting stranger who sweeps her into a night of unforgettable passion. But when morning comes, they both walk away, certain they’ll never see each other again.

Grayson Danford never expected a night with the irresistible Mrs. Wilde, but she was a welcome distraction from the unpleasant duty of breaking up his brother’s impending nuptials.  He’s shocked when he discovers his passionate lover is none other than the sister of his brother’s intended and she is just as determined to see this wedding go forward.

Now Rosalinde and Gray will butt heads, even as their simmering desire for each other threatens to boil over. Who will win? And who might lose it all?

Was pleasantly surprised by this story! There are several parts throughout the book where the author does a great job of capturing true emotion. The characters, along with their backstories, are well developed. The different plots planted for other stories within the series were presented in an interesting and cohesive way. All in all, a very good read!

The story was interesting and hot. I felt sorry that the girls had suffered so much abuse by their grandfather. Women had it tough back then. Although the story is romantic, I wouldn’t want to have lived in that timeline. I am happy that today we chose who we marry and can divorce abusive spouses, support ourselves and so many other freedoms we take for granted.

I skipped through a lot of pages in this book because parts were just plain boring. Did have a decent story. Just could’ve been better with more dialogue and less fluff.

It’s not often that your average romance novel comes with a gripping plot, but I found this one to be a page turner. I also appreciated that it was well paced and that while the individual traumas of the two leads caused an obstacle to their relationship, it was not too drawn out or ever painted as totally insurmountable. That in combination with their intense chemistry made them feel realistic and relatable.

I enjoyed this book. The story was exciting and interesting too. I would love to read more but I just read the free ones. I wonder if they find out who their father is.
