Description

She wants to save the Knights…

When Miranda Callahan’s father, principle owner and hands-on dictator of the Georgia Knights, has a heart attack, the responsibility to make the team an independent success becomes solely hers. Though everyone expects her to fail in her new role, Miranda is determined to take her team to the top and earn her father’s love and respect on the way. The only other obstacle is the League’s consultant – a secret crush from her past – the man trying to take over the team, and the one person who can save them all.

He wants revenge…

Lucan Wainright is a turnaround consultant, hired by the League to save the Knights and so many other teams – only this time it’s personal; before being ousted by Seamus Callahan, Lucas’ family had been the owners of the team. Now, he has the perfect opportunity to regain his rightful position with the Knights, if he’s willing to suppress his scruples and his attraction to Miranda Callahan.

Can Miranda and Lucas let go of old grudges and hold on to their new love?

Miranda was a people pleaser ,only wanting to please her dad and that was pretty annoying because of her only trying to please her dad she would irritate me so much ,she needed to learn to not care if she pleased other people she needed to do what made her happy. But overall good read

This is my first book by this author and it definitely won't be the last! Miranda is the President of the Georgia Knights baseball team and after her father's heart attack, she is finally free that she has earned her position through merit instead of nepotism. Right before her father's heart attack, the league sends Lucas, a turnaround consultant and former family friend, to save the team from financial ruin. But since his father used to be the owner of the team, is he just biding time before he can take over? I loved Miranda. She's intelligent and truly knows the game. She proves to Lucas and all of the staff that she's more than a former beauty queen pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the only person who doesn't have real faith in her ability is her father. Lucas started out in the story looking for revenge and I really didn't want to like him. But the more I read, the more I loved him. He lifted Miranda up and encouraged her to be the leader he knew she could be. I haven't read book one in this series yet so I definitely think this can be read as a standalone. I can't wait to read books one and three in this series!
