As a young teen, I read stories about the FBI and dreamed about being an FBI Agent. While I did not pursue that career, I am an avid reader of books about those who serve and protect our country. They sacrifice so much for us. I am an avid reader so I read many books a year and I have read my share about those who serve and protect. Great characters and a storyline that was both romantic and intense with dangerous situation. Heartily recommend reading this author’s books and will continue to enjoy more of her books in the future.
  • Inconsistent and unrealistic emotions from main characters.

I felt that Isabelle’s character needed to be stronger. It was natural for her to be worried and scared about the dangerous situation and to still have grief over her husband’s death. Yet she seemed overly emotional—constantly breaking down, and giving everyone else control over her life and her sons. It was frustrating.

Excellent characters and storyline. Love the family dynamics of both families, and the HEA well deserved.
  • Nice romance with a dash of intrigue

First book in this series. Great characters that include the presidential family and the Marino family. Protection detail that tries to stay neutral. Epic fail. Love through the ending.

A great start to a new series. The Marino family only knows how to serve and protect in their occupations. This is the story of Nick, of the secret service, who has been asked to protect the president's sister, Isabelle. Isabelle is a widow and young mother of twins. Nick and Isabelle can not deny the chemistry between them but Nick does not want to risk his career. Plenty of family love with the Marino clan. Loved the developing relationship of Nick and Isabelle, even though Nick tried to fight it off. Great suspense with who was threatening Isabelle and keeping her and boys safe. Looking forward to reading more of the Marino family!! I read in one day, could not put it down.I highly recommend this book.
