Description

This instant #1 New York Times bestseller and “modern techno-thriller” (New York Journal of Books) follows covert operative Mitch Rapp in a terrifying race to stop Russia’s gravely ill leader from starting a full-scale war with NATO.

When Russian president Maxim Krupin discovers that he has inoperable brain cancer, he’s determined to cling to power. His first task is to kill or imprison any countrymen threatening him. But when his illness becomes increasingly serious, he decides on a dramatic diversion—war with the West.

Upon learning of Krupin’s condition, CIA director Irene Kennedy understands that the US is facing an opponent who has nothing to lose. The only way to avoid a confrontation that could leave millions dead is to send Mitch Rapp to Russia under impossibly dangerous orders. With the Kremlin’s entire security apparatus hunting him, he must find and kill a man many have deemed the most powerful in the world.

The fate of the free world hangs in the balance in this “timely, explosive novel that shows yet again why Mitch Rapp is the best hero the thriller genre has to offer” (The Real Book Spy).

I loved Vince Flynn, and Mills is just not as talented. The plot is predictable in the worst way, even Rapp is made to be just another cog in the wheel of the story. Whereas with Flynn he was the main protagonist and it wasn’t debatable. I love this series but this is where I stop. Such a shame

It is interesting that no one seems to notice the shallowness of these stories about Mitch Rapp since the passing of Vince Flynn. Whereas Flynn had an honest-to-goodness gift for plot and character development, his successor only knows the barest rudiments of narrative. It’s enough to keep the series alive but lacks cohesion or depth. Just read an earlier Flynn novel and immediately follow with this more recent schlock and you’ll see immediately what the difference is.

Interesting and hopefully not all true. I have never thought of Russia’s leaders that’s being so cruel and careless about the people.

RIP Vince Flynn, enjoyed so many of your books Kyle and the publishers should have more respect for Vince and stop writing/publishing books in Vince’s name. They are a poor shadow of the books and characters that Vince created and we have all enjoyed. Do the decent thing and stop milking his name with these poor knock off books. If you are I fan of Vince don’t waste your money
