SPEND CHRISTMAS WITH TONY & KATE HETHERIDGE

When miserly millionaire Barnaby Galen is found dead in his dilapidated mansion, police find two corpses on the scene—the murder victim and the murder weapon. A human skeleton even more terrifying than the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come was rigged to pop up beside Galen’s bed and scare the life out of him…

Tis the season, and after a long recuperation in the country, Tony Hetheridge is eager to get back to work. His wife Kate, however, is still haunted by the violent end of their last case. Hoping to rekindle her detective’s spirit, Tony offers to help their friend Paul Bhar investigate Barnaby Galen’s strange demise. The Scrooge-like miser left behind no friends, only enemies, and a neighborhood full of eccentric suspects. Will Kate be able to resume her career at Scotland Yard? Or will Tony and Paul have to go it alone?

I enjoyed learning the different words and phrases and ways of speaking similar but different. American vs British. I had read all the series prior to this Christmas mystery, and enjoyed all.

A little boring in the beginning. Way too many names to keep track of. Got more interesting in the last third of the story.
