Loving the High Republic. The five main characters in this book are a fine addition to the Star Wars universe. Can’t wait to read the next book.
  • Author with a racist past

Hard to enjoy something when you know the author has tweet racist comments and has told fans not to buy her book.
  • Interesting characters, so-so story for them to inhabit.

If I could, I'd have given this book 3.5 stars rather than 4, but 3 seemed a bit harsh. While I doubt I'll remember the particulars of the story a month or two from now, I will remember the characters. They are worthy of 4 stars. I hope we get to see more of them. Particularly Avon. Seeds were planted for her, and I can't imagine those just being dropped by the wayside. Only future books will tell.
  • Great characters, ok story

While I wasn’t expecting much from this book meant for younger readers, I thought all the characters were very well developed and interesting and the writing by Justina Ireland was very good. I also liked how deep and dark the story got at times as the young cast of characters dealt with a devastating loss and the lure of the dark side. The plot on the other was nothing new, just another crash landing story. The characters were what kept me reading and I’m looking forward to seeing more of some of them in future high republic books.
  • Great introduction to Vern

A charming story that introduces us to two young Jedi and a adorable cast of characters as they fight to survive on a remote world. Justina Ireland dazzles with her wit and prose that make it enjoyable for children and adults alike.

The new characters, setting, and story is all super exciting. The chapters read quickly, and the story is enthralling. Can’t wait to pick up the next book in this series. Is it August yet?
