Description

THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER IS NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE!

A GOOD MORNING AMERICA BOOK CLUB PICK

Their lives began together, but their worlds couldn't be more different. After thirty years of missed connections, they're about to meet again...

Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year's birthday is unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she's never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year's Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990--and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it's no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

When Minnie unexpectedly runs into Quinn at a New Year's party on their mutual thirtieth birthday, she sees only more evidence that fortune has continued to favor him. The gorgeous, charming business owner truly seems to have it all--while Minnie's on the brink of losing her pie-making company and her home. But if Quinn and Minnie are from different worlds, why do they keep bumping into each other? And why is it that each fraught encounter leaves them both wanting more?

A moving, joyful love story, This Time Next Year explores the way fate leads us to the people we least expect--no matter what the odds.

To be fair, not my kind of book. “Read” it for a book club. You only have to read the first few words of each page to get the story since there is no actual depth.
  • Such a great read

I loved it! Lots of characters at times but I love how the author wrote in the present and in the past.
  • Sweet Story!

This was a cute read. I enjoyed the optimism which served as a nice, little escape from all the anguish 2020 brought along. It's refreshing to read positive outlooks on love, romance and fairytale endings. Yes, I do believe they exist. I also enjoyed how the book told many life lessons without overwhelming you with some philosophical mumbo-jumbo. I would have given it 5-stars if the author would've circled back the many times the main characters lives intertwined. But I guess it's like real life, we don't always know when our soulmate has crossed our path.

This book started out terribly. It was pure torture. I kept hoping that each chapter would be the last but it was the book that seemed to never end. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Shame on the publisher! My root canal hurt less than reading this book. Shame on the publisher!

I liked this book a lot. The characters were well thought out and it was neat to watch them overcome hurdles. It shows how life events can impact/shape your life. Sometimes looking at things in a different perspective can help too.
