Description

She can’t stop thinking about her fake boyfriend’s filthy mouth.
Thea Blackwell never commits to anything. Not jobs, not hairstyles, and especially not men. But she does dream about putting down roots in the cute fixer-upper she’s always loved, and when her dreams get a little, ahem, sweaty, she even lets herself picture the sexy contractor she wants handling the renovations.
Aiden Murdoch. Town playboy and Thea’s former neighbor. (You know, the one who still thinks of her as the little kid next door.)
Although she can barely afford the house, let alone the cost of renovations, Thea offers to hire Aiden on a whim, and he shocks her with a counterproposal: He’ll fix up her house if she'll fix up his wild reputation.
Pretend to be Aiden’s girlfriend and get her dream house on the cheap, with no messy emotional entanglements? She can’t say yes fast enough. But when her fake boyfriend’s kisses start feeling a little too real, Thea has to decide whether to dig up her fragile little roots and flee—or stay and work on the future Aiden wants them to build together.
“Sweet and funny and sexy all at once. I couldn't put this down.” Mari, Mari Loves Books Blog
Pick up this hot fake-relationship romance featuring competency catnip, a rescue dog with the worst (best?) timing, and a charismatic contractor who's great with caulk. Like all Sara Whitney books, Tempting Lies delivers playful banter, steamy encounters, upbeat vibes, and a verrrry happy ending.

I’ve read the first four in this series (including the novella) and this is the best yet! The family storylines for both Aiden and Thea add depth and heart.

This was such a great book, with just enough angst to make it believable but plenty of bounce to keep it a true rom-com. Aidan and Thea are hot like fire and both have their issues that they need to deal with - but they do and the result is two grown-ups who make each other better people. Also, I loved that Thea buys a cheap house because she can see how great the bones are and how beautiful it’s going to be… yes, that’s metaphor! And it works! Sara Whitney always knows how to bring the best out of our favorite tropes and this latest book in the Cinnamon Roll Alphas series is a fantastic read. NOW GIVE ME FAITH’S HEA!!!

As always, Sara Whitney knocks it out of the park. This book is part of her Cinnamon Alpha Rules series. You can certainly read it as a standalone book, but I would recommend reading the entire series first. The two main characters in this book popped up in earlier books in the series and were interesting. But here, they’ve been fleshed out, and we get to see their complexities. Sara’s books always have a nice medium spice level. And her banter is some of the best in the game. I highly recommend this entire series.
