I read the first book in just two and a half days. The only reason I put it down was to do my work and take care of my family. I cannot wait to read the second. I am just sorry I did not discover this series sooner! Thank you, Jennifer Armentrout.

I felt like people really hyped this book so I expected a lot more from the start. I felt like the book started getting better around chapter 23 which is the reason for the 2 star review.

Easy read, nice twist.

I enjoyed this book and think it is a good start to a new series. The FMC was engaging with an interesting magical power. I was invested in her story and her plight. The MMC was dark and broody and scrumptous. I had a few “a-ha” moments throughout the book and I wish I had a reading buddy to discuss immediately. I will definitely be continuing with the series and recommend the book to anyone who likes fantasy with spice.

Such a great read. At times Poppy comes across annoyingly childish but to some extent that makes sense with her backstory. So excited to read the next one!

Absolutely loved this book! It’s such a great read, I didn’t realize I could love a series as much as ACOTAR or Fourth Wing but this series delivers!
