The gossips say she was with a man, alone, at night. She is ruined. The fact is, it wasn’t her. Abigail is mistaken for her sister. It doesn’t matter, her brother-in-law insists she marry to stop the gossip, and to protect her from the danger that stalks the Carrington sister. He even provides a bridegroom, a friend of his called the Baron of Blasphemy. Chad and Abigail butt heads from the start. He needs her dowry and she needs his protection. Love, not so much, at least not just yet. Chad, Baron Blackwater, admits to his nickname and deserves most of his reputation. Abigail is the youngest Carrington sister and is believed to be rather spoiled and selfish. Well, as we know, all may not be exactly as it seems. Hiding out at Chad’s country estate with the Viscount of Vanity, they learn a lot about themselves, each other, and what love really is. This story has a bit of drama (mostly family), a lot of humor, and still some danger for the sisters. The characters are great fun to read. There is a surprise, actually a shock, near the end for the sisters and the readers (I did not see that coming). Story, characters, series, all good! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
