Description

Supernaturally gifted waitress Sookie Stackhouse is pitted against the legacy of her own undead bloodline in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True Blood.

Since Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has so few living relatives, she hates to lose one—even her cousin Hadley, undead consort of the vampire queen of New Orleans. Hadley’s left everything she had to Sookie, but claiming that inheritance has a high risk factor. Some people don’t want her looking too deeply into Hadley’s past or Hadley’s possessions. And they’re prepared to do anything in their power to stop her...

Not my favorite so far in the series! I can see why this plot was left out of True Blood.

Definitely Dead maybe one of my favorites for this series. Sookie continues to find herself entangled with supernatural politics. The budding relationship with Quinn is exciting but I’m cautiously optimistic. I have a feeling he maybe a player, but I hope not! The story has plenty of mystery and blood shed. Looking forward to the next book!

Better and Better!!! I got into HBOs True Blood first, so I thought I should start with Dead to the World, which is my favorite of the series thus far because of the changes between Sookie and Eric. However, the books are very different from True Blood in some aspects; the plots and casts of characters are far more expansive and deep. Loved this one and now "on onto the next one..."

I really enjoy this installment but enough with the sexual frustrations. We need more Eric and sookie interaction. I must say that I like the fairy blood discovery which is bringing us fans closer to finding out exactly what sookie really is and why she is a magnet for sipes. Really good story line. Well off to read the next book in the series.
