This dude must get paid by the number of pages and words. It took many boring chapters before the word Titanic was even mentioned, and even then it was incidental to the main theme of recovering a rare element. Each short chapter had a blank numbered page at it’s end, forcing the reader to flip a useless page about 85 times. Lastly, it was my bad by not lookin at the publication date. The novel was so dated it didn’t even recognize that the ship had been discovered and explored several times since the book was written.

First read this book back in high school and loved it. Never even knew there were more out there until several years ago when Cussler and Dirk Pitt became fixtures on the bookshelves. Love the plot twists, mixture of real and unreal, character and storyline development and the fantastic ride that starts with the very first page. Pick it up and see if you find it as hard to put down as I did way back then. Or the two times I've read it since.

Vintage Cussler. Good read. Brought back a good cold war tale crossed with perhaps the most famous shipwreck in history. Love all of the Dirk Pitt series. Wish they would make more into movies like Saharra.

I have read just about every book Clive has written. This is a great book with action and twist and turns on every page. Dirk Pitt is awesome as always. Clive is one of the best authors of our times.
