Description

This illustrated Travel Guide is designed for optimal navigation on iPad and other electronic devices. It is indexed alphabetically and by category, making it easier to access individual articles. Articles feature information about attractions, landmarks, districts, transportation, cultural venues, dining, history and much more. Addresses, telephones, hours of operation and admissions information are included. The guide is complemented by clearly marked maps that are linked to city attractions. An interlinked phrasebook as well as a pronunciation guide are included.

This travel guide also features three walking tours with our suggestions for your travel route. These walking tours include links to individual attraction articles.

Imperial Rome is explained with the use of maps and models.

NEW FEATURE: This guide now includes links to Google Maps. On electronic readers with slow connection and a primitive browser (such as Amazon Kindle and BN Nook Color) Google Maps will display the attraction on the map along with metro stations, roads, and nearby attractions. On internet-enabled devices, including the iPhone, the iPad, and many other phones, Google Maps will even show you the route from where your current location to the attraction you want to go to.

I have literally been subscribing to these travel ibooks from MobileReference. I have purchased 2 for Italy and 1 for Barcelona already and they are really fantastic books. This one for Rome is especially useful as it also provides safety tips and the content (ie history) of the landmarks are impressive. It is easy to navigate on the iPad and it is fantastic to read on the plane. I highly recommend the MobileReference ibooks.

The ebook adheres to the needs of those traveling from the U.S. The key sites are outlined thoroughly so you do not need to hire a tour guide if you do not want to spend the money. I would highly suggest this ebook to anyone going to Rome. The MobileReference guide gives practical advice regarding culture, safety, places to stay, how to navigate the city, prices of transportation, food and hotels, and much much more! The highly detailed color maps are very useful. They give you a way of figuring out where you are in relation to other places. The layout of the ebook is wonderful. The guide works perfect on my iPad.
