Shelby is a little annoying, Borgoyne’s conduct is classic sexual harassment, Soleta is a knock-off of Saavik, and the Vulcan doctor is basically unable to go a few minutes without thinking about her repressed sexuality. If you like reading a comic book-style Star Trek novel, this series is for you. It’s what I would call “Star Trek Lite”. If you want to read ST novels on a higher plane, I would suggest David Mack, Kirsten Beyer, Christopher L. Bennett, James Swallow, or Diane Duane.

Riddled with typos. Some parts almost unreadable, often annoying and distracting. For $11.99 you'd think there would at least be an editor who gave it a glance.
