Excellent treatment of what happened to Khan & his followers on Ceti Alpha V. Very deep character development & "fits" oh so nicely between the accounts from "Space Seed" and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Read both volumes of The Eugenics Wars first. What a great title, too… for that forsaken planet must have been!

I very much enjoyed this book. I wish it was longer though, with more story. Gaps of years left room for so much more. I likes the answers to questions I have had all these years. Such as where Khan's Starfleet pendant came from, where he got it, and why he wore such a thing representing that which he hated so much. Also why his cohorts seemed too young to be his original crew, yet too old to be 15 year old kids. Very nice. I should have guessed that oh so long ago, haha. A book I will seek out in physical format to add to my collection, and will read again.
