Description

Delve into the Alaskan Wilderness with A Fine and Bitter Snow

Immerse yourself in an exhilarating exploration of Alaska's untamed terrain, where wildlife preservation clashes with the desperate thirst for oil. Dana Stabenow, an Edgar award-winning author, expertly navigates the intricate nuances of this tumultuous dynamic, all while unraveling a trail of horrifying crimes.

Change never comes easy, but it comes just the same, and it's on its way to Niniltna, in southeast Alaska. This time it concerns the possibility of drilling for oil in a wildlife preserve near Aleutian P.I. Kate Shugak's home territory.

Dismay quickly morphs into horror as violent crime bleeds into their tight-knit community. A brutal murder and an attempted homicide transport Kate down a winding path of investigation. Together with Alaska State Trooper Jim Chopin, they piece together a jigsaw of criminal tells—motive, timing, opportunity, and means.

One thing is for certain-in Dana Stabenow's masterful crime novels about the beauty and the danger of living and dying in Alaska, nothing is as simple as it seems.

After a momentary lapse in her normal excellence with her last book, Ms. Stabenow's "back on her game". Great story. Great character development/progression. And, once again, her style just grabs you and won't let loose. She has you rooting wildly for her heroes. Excellent book!
