Description

A man is good for only one thing.

Dr. Marietta Dalrymple wants a baby, but all she wants from a man is his sperm. A professor of evolutionary biology, Marietta can explain away romantic love with scholarly theories of why men and women are compelled to copulate. Monogamy, she believes, is a state most males can’t achieve.

So what is Marietta to do after she mistakes Cash “Jax” Jackson for the carefully screened sperm donor she hired to impregnate her? Especially when Jax doesn’t know anything about the legal document the other man signed relinquishing all rights to the child.

Jax soon sets his sights on more than Marietta’s unborn baby. But can he prove to her that romantic love truly does exist? Or will the secret he’s keeping destroy any chance these unlikely lovers have at happiness?

It is a cute light hearted story that I throughly enjoyed. A little campy in some spots, but in a fun way. I will definitely be reading her other stories as well.

This book is a fun read with just enough spice to keep it interesting!
  • Crude characterization of female main character

The female main character grated on my nerves. Her personality and perception are trite, contrived and clueless. Throughout the development of the plot, her character keeps beating a dead horse. It becomes exasperating to bear reading about her. The other characters are much better developed and a whole lot fresher.

This author tried hard but her female main character just wasnt interesting enough to snag the hunky hero, IMHO. It makes it tough to keep reading when you just dont see why he would fall for her. Jax does make the story worthwhile as well as the side story of the sister and brother in law. I love happy endings so it doesnt disappoint in that respect
