A Plea for the Criminal (1905) was written by the New Zealander author James Leslie Allan Kayll (1873-1944). It is a reply to Dr. William Allan Chapple's (1864- 1936) work The Fertility of the Unfit (1903), and is an attempt to explain the leading principles of criminological and reformatory science.
