This book was an easy read and entertaining but it could have been shorter. I would have preferred that all of the agonizing and self doubt and assuming what Kylie and Michael each thought that they knew what the other was thinking had been kept to a minimum. But otherwise I enjoyed the story and the writing was good.

A little slow paced at times, but I loved the ending. Very nice payoff for much of the angst throughout the story. Good Read!

Love plot, the romance, the depth of the characters and the town. The only confusing thing is that at times it seems more like the book is based in the 1800's with the morals about sex and whatnot. When I read about the U2 shirt it threw me for a minute.

What a book, could not put it down for two day and finished. Rumors can't take away what love can over come as long as you can be true to yourself. Read this book, well worth it for being free. Take a chance and read it you won't regret it.

I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of this story. Unlike most romances ,this one gave more dimension to the characters, the town, and to the history of the plot. At first I thought it had a slow start, but as you get to know the characters, you stay with them. Michael and Kylie's love shaped them to be stronger in the face of adversity, and their family's offbeat support was needed to keep it all together. For a free book it was a good story. Much better than many of the expensive popular ones out there.
  • Beautiful, romantic story

A romance in a small town in Ireland between Kiley, a prim - appearing teacher and Michael, a recently paroled felon. Not everything is as it first appears. This is no light-hearted, fluffy tale. It's a beautiful love story that winds around issues of family, trust, loyal, social problems and the "troubles" of Ireland's not very distant past. There is some tragedy, some humor, some very nice (and appropriately hot) love scenes and a tiny dusting of magic. I came close to tears a couple of times and when the story was done, I wanted to know more about some supporting characters, including Michael's sister, Vi. I don't want to give anything away, but I'm pretty hopeful that I'll get my wish as I see there are two more titles, "The Brightest Flame" and "The Boldest Man"
