Description

A lavishly funded, security-conscious nanotechnology institute in the foothills of the Rockies, Nano is ahead of the curve in the competitive world of molecular manufacturing, including the construction of microbivores, tiny nanorobots with the ability to gobble up viruses and bacteria.

But when Pia Grazdani takes a job there, she’s shocked by the secretive corporate culture. She’s warned by her boss not to investigate the other work being done at the gigantic facility, nor to ask questions about the source of the seemingly endless capital that funds the institute’s research. And when Pia encounters a fellow employee on a corporate jogging path suffering the effects of a seizure, she soon realizes she may have literally stumbled upon Nano’s human guinea pigs. Is the tech giant on the cusp of one of the biggest medical discoveries of the twenty-first century—a treatment option for millions—or have they already sold out to the highest bidder?

Page turning till the end. I understand the ending but see many people don’t. I don’t want to give anything away but will say it is what it is

Wish I had read the reviews first. A waste of time.

All of the 1 star reviews are accurate. This book was going along just fine until the end. I think Robin Cook let the pen get out of control. It reminded me of a friend who was drawing a picture, and his blue pen ran out of ink, so he had to draw a fire to take up the space.

A pathetic attempt at a medical thriller Do not waste your time or money. It is a shame that an author that has published very good books has stooped so low

For the first book I've read by Cook, I can definitively say I will read his other works. Nano was thrilling and a great read.

While the medical science was present, along with suspense, I would have expected no typos, and the major character to not just disappear. Seems you were in a hurry to finish!

The premise sounded very interesting, the possibility of nanobots injected into humans to prolong endurance. Wish I would have read the reviews before I hit "buy." The characters were so underdeveloped. Pia's father a thug, and her aloof, run-off behavior was never fully explained. Did Mr. Cook farm out chapters to writers he taught/mentored? I have read many Robin Cook novels (loved Coma) but Nano was a bad, bad book. Mr. Cook, what happened?

I am Robin Cook fanboy. I've read every novel of his that he's written as far as I can tell. I may have missed one or two but I doubt it. I have never, never, ever written a review. This is my first. However, I felt I needed to. Bad bad ending. What happened to Pia? Did she really die? Is this a cliffhanger? I even went to the website to see if there was any clue because the ending was so unsatisfied. I will, however, continue to buy Robin Cook books. Every author is entitled to one or two clinkers. It is rare for him.
