Description

Boys don't keep diaries--or do they?

The launch of an exciting and innovatively illustrated new series narrated by an unforgettable kid every family can relate to.

It's a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you're ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.

In book one of this debut series, Greg is happy to have Rowley, his sidekick, along for the ride. But when Rowley's star starts to rise, Greg tries to use his best friend's newfound popularity to his own advantage, kicking off a chain of events that will test their friendship in hilarious fashion.

Author/illustrator Jeff Kinney recalls the growing pains of school life and introduces a new kind of hero who epitomizes the challenges of being a kid. As Greg says in his diary, "Just don't expect me to be all 'Dear Diary' this and 'Dear Diary' that." Luckily for us, what Greg Heffley says he won't do and what he actually does are two very different things.

When I was reading this book,in page 29,I wonder why Fregley is saying “JUICE” to go to the restroom, still that part is so funny.Another part which is funny is that how Rodrick spelled his band name “Loded Diper instead of Loaded Diaper. So funny 😂😂😂.

I loved this book when I read it at nine or ten , (I’m eleven now) but I don’t suggest it, it might encourage kids to be jerks and make them think like Gregory Heffley, and as far as I can tell , he is a selfish, arrogant, mean , annoying and picky kid . He is not mature at all, especially for his age , he is just so arrogant, he always thinks everyone else is so stupid, and thinks of himself as a God or something ! the author makes him think he is so smart and nice in comparison to everybody else, but he made Gregory Heffley a jerk , and yet made others seem worse. In a parent’s perspective, it has a bigger downside than the upside: the upside is that the kid will enjoy the book ; BUT the downside is that the child or young adult might start thinking, and acting like a Gregory Heffley and he is a pure jerk. They might start acting, or speaking like him. But if you think that your child can handle it, and not be affected, then go ahead ! But beware , only some people will have a straightforward enough personality and or stronger sense of arrogance to not be affected, so be careful, but I hope you have a more accurate understanding of Jeff Kinney’s books so that you can keep your family mentally healthy ! P.S. I really am 11, and please take this review seriously .
