Reid Chance understood that love was a precursor to abandonment and pain. His mom loved someone so much he and his sister landed in foster care. His ex-girlfriend loved his money and left when she found out he wanted a prenup before marriage. He funded startups but he was at home on the land with his horses wallowing in the peace, until a woman with a plan makes him reconsider the love equation.

Neither one of them wanted to deal with the past, but they'll have to settle old accounts if they want the payout of love.

    I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I didn't read the first book in this series and there were some spots when I felt it would have been necessary. The first couple of chapters had me so very confused that I had to read it multiple times. I just gave up and kept reading after the fourth time. Later on I saw that the book really needed a good editor. Now I know that some authors give out ARC with a few errors and that is okay but this one really needed it. In one paragraph Jack (Gloria's brother) introduces himself as the older brother to Gloria. The next paragraph has Reid asking who is older. HUH?! Another place has the character's name spelled as REED. Then in the next sentence after it was spelled correctly as REID! I had to wonder if there was another character that I had missed. The story was a solid one but the execution was off at least for me. I had to make myself finish this book. I'm not sure if I would read any more and the siblings Vincent and Kathy (especially Kathy's) sound like they could be interesting.

    A wonderful story with heartfelt emotions and a beautifully written drama. I loved the characters - likable and interesting. I loved their interactions - engaging and entertaining. A very entertaining storyline. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Having not yet fully grieving the loss of her baby, Gloria took to planning. Her entire life was on a schedule. Meeting Reid was a wake up call to get out of her head and start living. Reid is a dependable guy who is used to doing challenging tasks and finishing them.. But will this be a task too big for even him to conquer? To find out what,if anything,happens between the two - read book. You won’t regret.

    The Loner’s Wife is a wonderful heartfelt story. The story is beautifully written with remarkable characters. Gloria and Reid interactions are intense and emotional. Gloria is sad, grieving and is strictly business no relationships. Reid is very wealthy and doesn’t do relationships but needs Gloria. Their relationship is consuming and you hope they have a HEA.     This book was a fun read and a perfect continuation in the series. I loved the way Grayson was prominent n the first few chapters to make an easy transition to Reid and Gloria’s story. There is also a nice set up for Vincent, the next brother’s story at the end of the book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    They both need each other. Gloria is suffering from depression (after a loss) and is in Inheritance Bay. She’s working with Reid, who has been burned as well. They are slightly untrusting. Told more than shown.

    I really enjoyed this story about Reid and Gloria. I found that it is a story that grabbed me from the beginning and kept me wondering what would happen next. The sweet romance between Reid and Gloria was fun to see develop. Fantastic read!

    This is a great story. Gloria and Reid both have issues from their individual pasts that they need to deal with and overcome. Great interaction and storyline. I really enjoyed reading about Kathy, Reid’s sister. Hopefully she will get her own story. Can’t wait for Vincent’s story.
