Description

Terry Hayes, author of the #1 global bestseller I Am Pilgrim, returns with this terrifying and eagerly awaited instant bestseller.

If, like Kane, you’re a Denied Access Area spy for the CIA, then boundaries have no meaning. Your function is to go in, do whatever is required, and get out again—by whatever means necessary. You know when to run, when to hide—and when to shoot.

But some places don’t play by the rules. Some places are too dangerous, even for a man of Kane’s experience. The badlands where the borders of Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan meet are such a place—a place where violence is the only way to survive.

Kane travels there to exfiltrate a man with vital information for the safety of the West—but instead he meets an adversary who will take the world to the brink of extinction. A frightening, clever, vicious man with blood on his hands and vengeance in his heart...

I have read books for years, this is by far the best book I have ever read. Thank you, a wonderful, intense book!

This is solid storytelling and you can imagine you are in the story seeing in detail what’s happening. It’s suspenseful and thrilling and I would have given it 4 stars had the story kept its path. But it didn’t. Bending light turned into traveling into the future. It just got weird at that point. Maybe the first book had the same themes. I haven’t read the first book so I was caught off guard.
  • A wide gap between his first novel and this one.

A wide gap between his first novel and this one. But a fine enough pulp fiction for an airplane… or (invisible) submarine

I really liked “I Am Pilgrim” and was looking forward to reading this book. It jumps in such disjointed steps from ultra reality to unconvincing science fiction that my head is still spinning. The writing is excellent but the story is impossibly incoherent

Don’t know what happened, but half way through this book the author switches gears. The story takes a weird turn. I was really disappointed. Seems like the second half of this book is an entirely different genre and story.

A believable spy story with a great science-fiction twist. Plan on reading well into the night.

Loved the first book( I am Pilgrim) This book was too long, too confusing, and not interesting. Mr. Haynes please return to your original style.
