Description

The classical musical It Happened at the World's Fair (1963) is a comedy film directed by Norman Taurog and starring the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself, Elvis Presley. Probably the most memorable scene from this movie involved Presley's character bribing a kid to kick him in the shins. That hired foot belonged to a young Kurt Russell; uncredited at the time. Russell was only eleven years old when he made his movie debut as an actor in It Happened at the World's Fair that was filmed in Seattle, Washington in September 1962. Although It Happened at the World's Fair was the only movie in which Presley and Russell appeared together, Elvis made a lasting impression on the youngster. Kurt Russell went on to play The King in John Carpenter's critically acclaimed 1979 biopic movie titled Elvis. In 1994, Russell voiced Elvis in Forrest Gump. The 2001 film 3000 Miles to Graceland really brought Kurt Russell's connection to Elvis Presley full circle. The movie stars Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner, who rob a casino during an Elvis convention in Las Vegas. At the beginning of the film, Kurt Russell is kicked in the shin, just as Russell had done in 1963 to Elvis Presley in It Happened at the World's Fair.
