F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote that "all fine prose is based on verbs carrying the sentences." Even if you don't aspire to write fine prose, even if you just want to make your writing clearer, more powerful, and more precise, learning more verbs can help you make that improvement. But learning new verbs can help anybody, not just writers. It is just a more specific way of boosting your vocabulary, and boosting your vocabulary can help anybody who wants to: score higher on standardized tests like the SAT, the ACT, and the GRE; improve reading comprehension, and communicate with greater confidence. So go ahead and add these verbs to your vocabulary. And don't forget to check out the fill-in-the-blank quizzes. They're meant to help you learn the words and also give you a few laughs along the way.
