Description

After almost forty years of searching, Ravuth at last feels hopeful. Looking out of the window he thinks about the last time he saw his parents and mischievous younger brother. Grimacing as he recalls the moment when he saw the Khmer Rouge herd them off like animals along with the rest of his village, and wonders, ‘Are they still alive? What will they look like now?’ Will they remember me?’ He can only imagine what they went through. With his thoughts in turmoil, his eardrums then pop and his stomach churns as the plane descended through clouds on its final approach to Phnom Penh International airport.
Gripping yet amusing, Spice is an adventure not to be missed.

Ben Bakewell is a baker with a unique gift, putting him at the top of the culinary world. More commonly known as Cake, he meets Ravuth, a Cambodian man residing in England. Ravuth fled Cambodia many years earlier to evade the Khmer Rouge who captured his family.
As a youngster, Ravuth discovered a plant, which years later he found made an extraordinary spice. After spending most of his life searching for his family, he employs Jed Culver, a disgraced DEA agent, now working in Cambodia as a Private Investigator. Thanks to Jed and modern technology, Ravuth gets a possible lead on his family's whereabouts. However, with Jed's bitterness for his old employer, and after discovering the harmless plant is not as it seems, it leads him along a deadly path to also find the plant.
Ravuth and Cake journey to Cambodia to embark on their search, encountering obstacles along the way and running into old and new foes.
Spice takes you from the glitz and glamour of the fashionable London restaurant scene to the wild untamed jungles surrounding the Cardamom mountain region of South East Asia, as the participants race to locate the remarkable plant and find Ravuth's long lost kin.
