The killer used pink tools

By Lisa Bateman
This was my first book by this author. I really liked it. It was a nice take on a murder mystery to have the main character be a woman who is a construction worker and used pink tools lol. Unfortunately for Shannon, she a suspect for murder after a guy she went out with is murdered with one of her tools. After she is no longer believed to have done it, one by one more victims start appearing. All killed with another of her tools. On top of that, there are some really close calls where she could’ve wound up dead herself. One being when the brakes on her bike stop working and she crashes. At least she is rescued by the new tenet of the local lighthouse. He is none other than a hunky famous author who becomes great friends with her. Now that Shannon has had close calls and more murders have happened, she starts snooping on her own. The new police chief, who is also sinfully dreamy, is not too happy about her snooping. But she can’t figure out who would want to harm her and frame her for murder. Just like the author, the police chief is sort of smitten with Shannon also. I loved everything about this book. It could’ve been a number of characters who committed the murders. It kept me guessing until the end. It had a great ending and what I liked about it most is that her options on which guy she winds up with are still open. At least it wasn’t an insta-love. And the books mainly focuses on the murders. And of course, talk of food and eating food. I can’t wait to dig into the next one.
If you like audiobooks, you would love this one. The narrator does a great job.
