Description

The #1 New York Times bestselling series!

Red Queen, by #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Aveyard, is a sweeping tale of power, intrigue, and betrayal, perfect for fans of Lauren Robert's Powerless and George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series.

Mare Barrow's world is divided by blood—those with common, Red blood serve the Silver-blooded elite, who are gifted with superhuman abilities. Mare is a Red, scraping by as a thief in a poor, rural village, until a twist of fate throws her in front of the Silver court. Before the king, princes, and all the nobles, she discovers she has an ability of her own.

To cover up this impossibility, the king forces her to play the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons. As Mare is drawn further into the Silver world, she risks everything and uses her new position to help the Scarlet Guard—a growing Red rebellion—even as her heart tugs her in an impossible direction.

One wrong move can lead to her death, but in the dangerous game she plays, the only certainty is betrayal.

Loved this book so much…. If you’re looking for a romance betrayal, then this is the book for you. Not expecting all of the plot twists and dark turns. Can’t wait to read the next books in the series.

The characters are well written and the Patin of the book is perfect. When you start to feel comfortable Victoria picks up the pace and before you know it you’re careening toward the end. Pick up this book if you want to be entertained.
  • Over hyped

I read the review’s and added it to my want to read. Then I found the physical copy at UVU I checked it out and couldn’t finish it. The idea is good but the execution… not so much. The reviews give it too much credit. It’s not that good. It’s slow at the beginning it might have gotten better after I stoped but I couldn’t keep reading. If you go to UVU and want to read this. Don’t waste your money just check it out on the fifth floor of the Fulton library. Then if you like it you can keep reading.

The writing is good, the characters are good, the way the book started sold me. So glad I read it.

I would give this 4/5 stars. The book has hunger games vibes which I enjoyed, but the plot twists were easier to guess than I expected based off of the reviews; the foreshadowing didn’t leave much room for imagination. I’m not the biggest fan of the trope of the FMC telling themselves they’re weak and thinking less of themselves, but I was glad to see Mare gain confidence in herself as the book reached the end.

When I walked into school I had 2 copies of this same book to let my friends borrow and let’s just say when I walked out I had literally 12 kids beging me to let them borrow the book next. The seres is a work of art!

Red Queen is the literal G.O.A.T of books! It is full of twists, each and every one so obvious yet able to slip under you and surprise you at the same time. This book is a prodigy. You must read it. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

It was well written. I wish there was more dialogue that made the relationships stronger vs so much description about everything else. It has a very hunger games vibe. Straight down to the dome, love interest in the past and now present, fighting, the capital. There’s are to many similarities to ignore.
