Description

Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.

Take one deadly bite and, bam, a man's life is changed forever, or so Caleb discovers when a loss of control leads to him joining the military and leaving everything behind. Now that he's back, making amends is harder than expected.

His ex girlfriend, Renny, is not interested in excuses. Caleb might have returned but her plan is to keep him at arm's length. Only she can't. Her son deserves a chance to get to know his father, but that doesn't mean Renny is letting Caleb back into her heart. Now if only her heart would cooperate.

Things get dangerous when a mysterious being starts stalking the residents of Bitten Point. When the monster threatens his son, Caleb knows it's time to unleash his dark inner beast so he can snap at danger--and take a bite out of life.

Coming home doesn’t always solve things…but it does pave the way for second chances.

I enjoyed Renny and Caleb's story and so will you. The couples tragic history and fated fresh start make for a great read.

Caleb left everyone and everything abruptly behind to join the military several years ago. Now he's back, scarred and hopeful to reconnect with the girl he loved and abandoned. Renny is working two jobs and never sees her four year old son Luke because she's always at work. When Caleb comes back to town, Renny is determined to avoid him, after all he wanted nothing to do with her when he left or Luke when she wrote him and told him he was a father. Finding out Caleb never read the letters, Renny reluctantly allows Caleb into their lives to get to know Luke and when a monster kidnaps Luke, Renny and Caleb come together to do everything they can to get Luke home safe again. This was an excellent first book to a new series! I thought it was interesting that Caleb and his croc didn't really see eye to eye, mostly because Caleb didn't trust his croc and the croc didn't help with its morbid sense of humor. I can't wait to be able to read Daryl's story next!!
