Description

New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas introduces Quinn, younger sister to Jared, Madoc, and Jaxon, in this captivating novella in the Fall Away series.

Quinn Caruthers has several problems: her father, Jason, and her three older brothers, Jared, Madoc, and Jaxon. Under the close watch of the men in her family, Quinn has found it nearly impossible to spread her wings—or even date—without them jumping in to hover. And when a family friend—several years older—from her childhood captures her heart, she knows they’re going to be a problem.

Lucas Morrow is a man—experienced, sophisticated, and important. And knowing her brothers, he may as well be forbidden. But Lucas left town years ago and shows no signs of returning. Quinn knows she shouldn’t wait for him anymore.

Then a package turns up on her doorstep with no return address and its contents reveal family secrets that threaten to turn Quinn’s world upside down. She’s never asked about the tumultuous path of her parents’ romantic history, but she soon learns their happy marriage had a very rocky and passionate start.

As she begins to see things around her with new eyes, Quinn will have to make tough choices about whether she’ll keep waiting…or finally go after what she really wants.

This isn’t really a love story about a boy who goes off to college and never returns home. Or the girl who misses him. As much as a story about the parents and the lessons they learned. And how they want their daughter to learn from those lessons. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I was disappointed. Maybe I wanted Quinn to find true love. And maybe she did...with herself. I hope there are other books coming out with this series. I would like to know Luke’s story. And Dylan, Hawke’s, Kade and Hunter’s stories. I would like to see Quinn find true love. It wasn’t the best book in the series. However, it was still a good book. An easy read. I read it over an afternoon.
  • An “okay” read

I didn’t have to force myself to read it, but I was constantly having to remind myself which kid had which parents to connect how the teens were all related. It ended up being confusing. The book also ended where I thought the story was about to take off. “Okay” read, but would only recommend to a younger crowd.

It can't end I need more. I need to know how this ends and see what happens to Kade and Hunter. I read all of the series in two days and am depressed with this cliffhanger. Too good to stop.

Overall this was a great novella which showed us how the relationship between Jase and Kat was established. It was nice hearing their perspectives and getting a glimpse of Madoc and Jared from their eyes. I can't wait till the others have their own books! I do like that we were able to get more of Tate's father; I love his personality!!! I am really looking forward to Dylan's love triangle book!!!! #jaredandtatearemyfavorite
