Description

What happens when you discover that the woman who’s been a friend for years is actually the one you’ve been waiting for? If you’re Dr. Turner McBride you set out to prove that the two of you would be perfect together.

After betrayal and a failed marriage, Charlie Stockton returns to Last Stand, Texas, to run her bakery and avoid commitment. She’s delighted to resume her long-time friendship with far-too-sexy Turner – but no way is she ready or able to trust her heart again.  Although she might be tempted into an affair, Charlie’s convinced their friendship is too important to risk losing by taking it to another level.

It will take all Turner’s determination and an unexpected wake up call to prove to Charlie that risking her heart will be well worth the gamble.

Texas love stories are the best! Turner and Charlie are best friends but come to know they have been in love with each other for a long time. There are ups and downs but always love.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Tule Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I would rate this higher than 5 stars if I could. This was a wonderful story. I just fell in love with Turner and Charlie (Charlotte). They were so good together. So good, that I couldn't put this down. I was completely enchanted with their journey to a HEA. Poor Charlie, she has a secret that she feels devastated about. She doesn't want to take her long-term friendship with Turner to something more. Her secret will change how he would feel about her and she can't lose his friendship. Turner on the other hand uses his knowledge of her likes to completely bowl her over without her knowing it. I did need a tissue or two in a couple of spots. I felt for both characters as they struggled. Having a dual POV format that this book is written in, really helped me to identify with both characters but especially Charlie. It really made me understand her feelings so much better. Turner as well at one point would have baffled me without reading his thoughts. I HIGHLY recommend this story to anyone. There are a few scenes in a sexual nature that may be a turn off for some BUT they were not written in graphic detail. There were also just a few of them. There is a wonderfully tender loving story here.
