Description

Jandy Nelson's beloved, critically adored debut is now an Apple TV+ and A24 original film starring Jason Segel, Cherry Jones, Grace Kaufman, and Jacques Colimon.

“Both a profound meditation on loss and grieving and an exhilarating and very sexy romance." —NPR

Adrift after her sister Bailey’s sudden death, Lennie finds herself torn between quiet, seductive Toby—Bailey’s boyfriend who shares Lennie’s grief—and Joe, the new boy in town who bursts with life and musical genius. Each offers Lennie something she desperately needs. One boy helps her remember. The other lets her forget. And she knows if the two of them collide, her whole world will explode.

As much a laugh-out-loud celebration of love as a nuanced and poignant portrait of loss, Lennie’s struggle to sort her own melody out out the noise around her makes for an always honest, often uproarious, and absolutely unforgettable read.

Honestly at first I thought this book would be boring because the title and the book cover didn't seem interesting to me, but never judge a book by its cover. It turned out omg I loved this book I swear. This book was in my school library and once I read a few pages, I ran to check this book out. I hope there is a second book!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ -Middle Schooler

I lost my brother some years ago. I was 12 and he was 14. Rarely do I find a book that captures the grief I felt but also the guilt I felt about moving on. This book puts into words perfectly how it feels to lose someone too soon. Even though at times you feel like the world has stopped turning, life goes on and that's okay. Nothing is ever how you imagine it to be but this book (even as a work of fiction) gives you hope.

Eeekkkk! I love this book! If you really get into it, the middle part is really intense. My favorite part of the book is the end. It's just so romantic and cute. This is definitely a book that you should read! *some parts are for really mature readers, but other than that, it's AMAZING!

I just finished the second book by this author. She truly is an artist with her words. She paints a picture that allowed me to experience her story in every way - seeing beautiful, vivid colors, hearing the music, smelling flowers and feeling all the emotions of her characters. She is truly gifted, and I look forward to reading more of her work!

If you have a sister, you'll read this book and then hug her, if you can. This book touched my heart in such a lovely way. The characters are what makes me live this story so much. Enchanting beings that I still think about every once in a while.
